The trip north from Fort Lauderdale to Gainesville to Manhattan is quite a jump, but Broward Community College graduate Emily Moorhouse has been covering ground quickly. Moorhouse recently earned a position as an editorial intern at CosmoGIRL! magazine in New York City. Moorhouse, a 2007 BCC graduate, served as editor of P’an Ku, BCC’s literary magazine, and was a reporter for the student newspaper, The Observer, while at Broward Community College. She also was named to all-America and all-Florida academic teams while at BCC.
Moorhouse expects her CosmoGIRL! experience to serve her well as she contemplates her career plans. Moorhouse plans to edit and publish a magazine for teenagers that covers a broader range of subjects in a more comprehensive way.
Moorhouse currently is a junior at the University of Florida. Once she graduates from there, she plans to earn a certificate or master’s degree in publishing from Columbia University or New York University.
