Broward College’s North Campus in Coconut Creek will host a Job Fair on Wed., Sept. 24, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Omni Auditorium, Building 60. It is located at 1000 Coconut Creek Parkway. Admission to the event is free and it is open to the public, as well as to students and the college community.
Approximately 40 employers are expected to be there, actively recruiting employees and making job offers on-the-spot.
“I anticipate more people participating, more foot-traffic,” said Broward College’s Heidi Schwarz, who has organized job fairs on campus for the past 12 years. “We encourage prospective candidates to dress for success and bring several copies of their resumes, as employers will be interviewing and hiring on-site.” She said that because of the downturn in the economy, there might be more than 500 job-seekers at the event.
Among the employers who will be at the Job Fair are Bally Fitness, BankAtlantic, City of Boca Raton Police Services, North Broward Hospital District, UPS and Walgreen’s.
The college’s Career Center helps students on a continuing basis with resume writing, job placement, career assessment and more.
