Hurricane Ike update

Hurricane Ike update

The Broward College Emergency Operations Committee has continued to closely monitor the progress of Hurricane Ike over the weekend.  All locations of the college continue to be open and classes held as scheduled.

At this time, the projected track of Hurricane Ike takes it well south of Broward County.  There is no expectation that sustained tropical force winds will impact Broward County. The county can expect intermittent thunder storms to begin on Monday afternoon ending late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

The college emergency operations committee will continue to monitor Hurricane Ike, and are prepared to respond quickly to any threat from the storm.

You may always check this website on the status of the college. You may also call the college Hotline numbers: students call 954.201.4900 and employees call 954.201.6600.

There are no more planned updates for Hurricane Ike unless conditions warrant.

Below is a list of gas stations and supermarkets in Broward County that can produce their own electricity with generators should the storm come our way and we lose FPL power. They plan to serve customers as soon as it is safe to do so.
