Student Government represents the student body by serving on various campus and college committees, advocating at the state capitol, and raising student concerns to the college’s administration. Participants learn the legislative process, how to communicate in a diverse environment, budgeting and allocating monies, ethics, self management and conflict management.
The Student Programming Association assists in coordinating and implementing a variety of programs throughout the academic year. Such programs include the Welcome Week Carnival, Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, The Laughapalooza Comedy Show, Concerts, Coffee Houses and many more. Participants learn how to work in a group setting, how to communicate in a diverse environment, budgeting and allocating monies, ethics, self management and program coordination.
The Student Ambassadors assists the college’s recruitment and retention goals by visiting secondary schools and sharing the importance of getting a higher education (especially from BCC). They also assist on campus by providing campus tours and ushering various events. The Ambassadors are an exciting eclectic group, serving as the main act for the New Student Orientation.
