Ropes and Challenge Course

One of the least known and most often overlooked aspects of Tigertail Lake Recreational Center is our experiential education and team-building program.  Featuring a full ropes-course with four towers, a specially designed low-ropes area, and a team of professionally-trained facilitators, Tigertail Lake Recreational Center is one of only a handful of programs to offer such a complete team-building experience.

Experiential education is the distillation of real-life skill-sets - skills that one might use in school, or at work, or even just in basic day-to-day interactions - into simple (and fun!) initiatives that help to really emphasize and isolate those skills.  By isolating those skills, a professional facilitator can help a team or organization truly understand how to function together and achieve their goals.  The term “experiential education” literally means “to learn through experience”, and Tigertail’s professional facilitators are specially trained to create a safe, positive environment that enables the effective achievement of team goals.

The Tigertail Recreational Center Ropes Course is the crown jewel of South Florida's challenge course programs, a shining example of the exciting nature of a well-designed ropes course.  Featuring four interconnected towers, the TTLRC Ropes Course features 8 "high ropes" initiatives, and literally hundreds of ground-based "low ropes" intitiatives, each and every one geared towards helping you and your friends work together, overcome obstacles, and reach your goals.  Safety is our first priority, and while the ropes course may look a little scary it is perfectly safe, adherering to established ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) standards in construction and training.

Any organization or club can participate in Tigertail Lake’s team-building and ropes-course programs.  It is free to all current Broward College organizations.  Once a month Tigertail Lake sponsors an “Open Challenge” and opens the ropes course to the public.  The Open Challenge is free for current Broward College students, and only a small fee to the public.

Private programs are also available for a nominal fee.   Non-profit organizations, private parties, and educational institutions.  Broward County educational institutions receive a special discount, so make sure you contact us for more information.

Please contact Tigertail Lake Recreational Center to discuss the details of your program so we can design an experience that’s right for you.
