​About College Read

College Read is a student-centered and community-building initiative that supports student success through engagement with reading at Broward College. College Read is helmed by a committee made up of a diverse group of faculty, administrators, and staff from all college campuses. The committee aims to support student success through diversity and inclusion through its book selection and events programming. Participation is promoted to and encouraged throughout different pathways to create an integrated community of practice. 


Students can obtain a free copy of the College Read book in participating classes or through campus book clubs. If you would like to start a book club or are interested in reading the book and are not in a participating class, please email us at collegeread@broward.edu

If you are a BC professor who would like to use the College Read book in your course, copies can be provided to you and your students. Please contact the appropriate Reading Associate Dean for your campus.

The Student Winners Recognition Ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Central Campus Literary Fest on April 12, 2018.​

Selections for the 2018-19 College Read book will be made in Spring 2018 by the College Read Committee.
