Services to Faculty and Staff

Audio/Visual Information

The following is a brief description of the support services the North Campus LRC is currently offering to faculty and staff. We value your input, so please let us know if you require additional services or have suggestions for improvement

Make-Up Test Administration
North LabAs a courtesy to faculty and students, the LRC staff will proctor student make-up tests. Faculty will need to provide the LRC with:

  • A copy of the test
  • Complete instructions (whether the test taker can use calculators, notes, etc.)
  • If it is a timed test, the time allowed.

Please come to the LRC to pick up a copy of the "cover sheet" outlining the information needed and to identify the location where you may pick up your students' completed tests.

Requests For Purchasing Non-Print Materials
Due to our partnership with the Broward County Library, Learning Resources receives an annual allocation of funds earmarked for the acquisition of instructional videos and software. All newly acquired materials are catalogued into the LRC reference database. For the classroom use of non-print materials, please submit your request to Mr. Mario Toussaint (LRC, bldg 62 room 125, extension 2456).

Electronic Classroom
Room 135 in the Learning Resources Center houses a networked lab of 36 state-of-the-art desktop computers. Faculty is encouraged to schedule this lab on an "as needed" basis for individual class meetings involving:

  • Internet research
  • Specialized computer related class projects
  • Electronic presentations

If you would like an orientation or to check on availability please contact Mrs. Carolina Paredes at extension 2454

Special Services
Custom lab services, orientations and workshops (Word 2007, PowerPoint, BC e-mail) for individual classes are available upon request since some instructors have specialized Learning Lab needs and/or requirements. If you would like to make special arrangements for support of a particular class or if you want to schedule a customized lab orientation for your students, please contact us at either extension 2404 or 2260.
