What is CLEP?
The College Level Examination Program allows students to obtain credit for what they already know by testing and earning satisfactory scores on CLEP exams. For more information visit http://www.collegeboard.com/clep/

Can I take a CLEP exam at Broward College?
Yes. You may take the CLEP exam at one of three testing centers: Central Campus, North Campus or South Campus.

Do I take the test on the computer?
Yes. Broward College offers computer-based CLEP exams only.

How much time do I have to take the exam?
Each test is timed to a maximum of one and a half hour.

When do I get my test results?
At the beginning of each test you will be able to enter the name of the institutions where you want your tests scores sent. You will also receive your scores immediately after you complete the exam.

How much does it cost?

• Each CLEP exam is $72.00.

Do I have to become a Broward College student to take the CLEP exam at Broward College?
No. However, students who wish to come to Broward College just to take the CLEP exam must submit a Broward College non-credit admissions application to the Admissions/Registration Office.

What are the steps to register for a CLEP exam at Broward College?

1. Submit application
   Individuals wishing to become Broward College students and receive CLEP credit must submit an admissions application and pay the non-refundable application fee ($35.00).
   Individuals who desire to take the CLEP exam, but who do not wish to become Broward College students, must submit a non-credit application (no fee).
   
   
2. Register for CLEP exam
   Register for a date/time for the CLEP exam. CLEP testing times/dates are available online below and at the testing centers.
   
   
3. Submit payment
   There are two fees:
   -- The $15.00 non-refundable Broward College administrative fee.
   The $15.00 non-refundable administrative fee per test must be paid before you take the CLEP exam and prior to the due date indicated on your schedule
   A cash, check, credit card or money order payment may be made at any campus Cashier’s Office. Checks/money orders should be made payable to Broward College.
   -- The $15.00 non-refundable administrative fee credit card payment may be made on-line at www.broward.edu or by phone at 954-467-3660.
   The $72.00 “The College Board” CLEP exam fee.
   The CLEP exam provider named “The College Board” charges $72.00 per CLEP exam.
   
   Examinees have two payment options for the $72.00 exam fee:
   $72.00 Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex) payment may be made on-line at the time of the exam. The Testing Office will assist you with this payment process before the exam.

   $72.00 Check or Money Order payment may be made at any campus Cashier’s Office prior to the exam. Checks/money orders should be made payable to CLEP
   
   DO NOT combine the $15.00 administrative fee and $72.00 CLEP exam fee on one check/money order.
   The Cashier’s Office will provide you with a CLEP PAYMENT CONFIRMATION form for your $72.00 check payment. This form must be presented at the time of the exam.
   
   
4. Take the CLEP test
   Arrive 15 minutes early at the Broward College exam location.
   
   Bring the following items:
   1. official state or school photo ID
   2. $15.00 Broward College receipt for the administrative fee
   3. CLEP Payment Confirmation form from the Cashier’s Office for the $72.00 exam fee, or a Visa, MasterCard, Amex card to pay the $72.00 exam fee at the time of the CLEP exam.
      
      Unofficial scores will be provided after the exam.
