This course is designed to provide an introduction to film as an art form, cultural product and social artifact. It will include the understanding of basic analytical and technical forms, concepts, issues and development of critical skills. It will also include the history, development, theory and criticism of film art, as well as the basic principles of film making and film production. This is a writing credit course and an international/intercultural competency course. Students must earn a minimum grade of C to meet the requirements of the Gordon Rule for writing.
