About Department Head:
Thank you for visiting the Social and Behavioral Science Departmental Web Page. Our department spans the disciplines of Anthropology, Education, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religion and Sociology. Our distinguished faculty has been recognized on numerous occasions for their academic excellence and dedication to student learning and achievement. Their awards include recognition by the Carnegie Foundation as Florida Professor of the Year, as well as BCC's Professor of the Year and Endowed Teaching Chair committees. Their publications include current texts in History, Philosophy and Psychology. Their students have succeeded at accomplishing their educational goals locally as well as at the nation's service academies and premier universities with the foundation and support we have provided.

Our mission is to provide a general education curriculum that stresses historical, social, ethical and global perspectives. In the process, we are seeking to foster the view of ourselves as participating members of an interdependent and multicultural world.
