Biography Information
Professor Elisa Albo teaches English including courses in composition, literature, creative writing, English as a Second Language, and Honors. She has been at Broward College since 1992. She received an Endowed Teaching Chair Award and Professor of the Year at South Campus. She has a BA in English from the University of Florida, a Master in TESOL from Florida International University, and an MFA in Creative Writing, also from FIU. She has published two chapbooks of poems: Each Day More, a collection of elegies; and Passage to America, which recounts her family immigrant and assimilation story. Her poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, including The Notre Dame Review, Alimentum, Two-Countries Anthology, Vinegar and Char, and The Politics of Shelter. Teaching and writing are her passions, why students enjoy taking her courses and honing their own skills and creativity.
