Teaching Philosophy

As the Clinical Coordinator for the PT Assistant Program, I try to prepare students for experiences in the "real world" of physical therapy.

Students are encouraged to become resourceful and critical thinkers. The real world expects a lot from students and new graduates. I feel it is important to share these expectations with each student and assist them in developing strategies to meet those expectations. Students need to learn the technical skills required for a profession in physical therapy, and even more importantly, to develop professional behaviors that are necessary for success in the profession.

I feel it is our responsibility as educators to develop each student into a well-rounded individual, skillful in therapeutic interventions, professional in appearance, and enthusiastic about contributing to the profession and community.
