Biography Information

My relationship with Broward Community College began in the summer of 1982. I enrolled in programming classes and worked in the computer lab. In 1983, I was hired as a computer programmer by Cordis Corporation to write an online work order tracking system for the production support department. The project was successfully completed in twelve months and I decided to return to Broward Community College to continue my education and work part-time maintaining the VAX computer system and assisting students with programming problems.

I became full-time in 1986 and worked at the South Campus until 1991, when the computer science department moved to Central Campus. In 1997, the Information Technology Department was preparing to connect the college to the Internet and added additional staff to work on this project. I joined the Information Technology Department that year at the South Campus as the Educational Technology Coordinator. The college has changed since the first labs became connected to the world. There were many incredible people involved in this project and newcomers to the college will never know the commitment by these individuals in creating this robust technology structure.

My certifications include a Novell Certified Engineer and CompTIA A+ certified. I have taught the A+ hardware and software courses for the Computer Science Department at Central Campus and Office Systems Technology at South Campus. In 2002, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Management and in 2004 I completed my Master?s Degree in Computer Information Systems. My education will continue in 2007 at Florida International University. In the mean time I will continue to help guide the campus technology interests to reach greater goals. Broward Community College has been a positive influence in my life and a great place for education and employment.
