Biography Information
It is my personal belief that all pupils have the ability to learn. My philosophy of education is simply this. Students are not "sponges" that soak in knowledge, but they have special gifts and talents that are waiting to be discovered. It is the educator?s job to facilitate that creativity and to tap into their genius. My mission as an educator is to go the distance for every learner in my classroom. I will do all I can possibly do for each student. Some students may be talented in more academic fields, whereas others may be gifted in a more artistic field such as drawing, painting, or music. I think that as a teacher my first objective should be to identify the different learning styles and then to educate; thereby simplifying the communication process between student and teacher. So this means I will give feedback to student morning, noon and night.
Moreover, I feel I can be an asset in the classroom. I know what it is like to overcome educational handicaps. I also believe that it is my duty to ensure that I am meeting the needs of the students that I come in contact with. I can motivate and inspire young people to surpass mediocrity and to strive for excellence in the 20 first century. As a teacher, it is my vision to make a tremendous impact on the lives of the students I teach. Hands on activities will be included in each subject area (because individuals learn best by doing). Lastly, I will use the constructivist method and strategies, because many students learn better when you use different kinds of teaching methods. My education beliefs are directly related to all of the NBPTS core propositions. (Core propositions 1, 3, 4, and 5)
