Biography Information
Jan brings an extensive aviation background to BCC. She began flying at the age of sixteen and has since acquired a list of FAA Certificates. She holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate multi-engine, Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating-single engine airplane, Certified Flight Instructor-Airplane, Instrument and Multi-engine flight Instructor-Airplane, Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate, and an Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. Her experience includes airline work not only as a pilot but maintenance technician for Eastern Airlines as well. She has also flown Learjet's for an Air Ambulance operation. Jan has worked in airport operations in the capacity of Senior Operations Agent for Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and has taught for the aviation department since 1997. She is an honors graduate of the Professional Pilot Technology and Aviation Maintenance Management Programs of Broward Community College, holds a Bachelors in Liberal Studies cum laude from Florida Atlantic University and the Master of Aeronautical Science Degree with an Aviation/Aerospace Safety Systems Specialization from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
