Hinduism guides the lives of its adherents in many different ways. The ultimate reality is understood as a principle called Brahman rather than a personal God. Devotion to this principle may be expressed in ways that appear to be monotheistic, polytheistic, henotheistic, animistic, pantheistic, and even atheistic |

Judaism |
|
Judaism is a monotheistic religion. Jews believe in a personal God that chose to have a covenant relationship with the descendants of Abraham. Judaism is understood in light of biblical Judaism and rabbinical Judaism. Biblical Judaism centered on the sacrificial system and their temple in Jerusalem, the covenant with Abraham and the law given through Moses. After the destruction of the temple by the Romans, Judaism was centered on the Law. |

Christianity |
|
Christianity is a monotheistic religion that evolved from Judaism. Christians believe in a personal God whose complexity is expressed in three persons (the Trinity: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit). They believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the incarnation of the second person of the trinity (God, the Son). His death and sacrifice at the cross pays for the sins of the world. Through devotion to Christ, any sinner can have a personal relationship with God. |
