                  ATTENDANCE POLICY
Make sure to sign the Attendance Sheet when it is passed around, otherwise you will be listed as "absent" for the class.  If you are late, you will be permitted to sign in, after class.  Attendance is worth ten percent (10%) of your overall grade.

For each hour of class you will lose 1 % point.  Should you only miss 3 hours of class for the entire semester (not class sessions), then you will  still receive the full 10% (no penalty).    If you miss 4 hours, then the first 3 hours will count against you, as well.
NOTE:  Leaving at the break or before class is dismissed will constitute an absence for that day!

If you miss a total of more than 7 HOURS OR MORE then I reserve the right to either FLUNK you for the course, or to give you ONE LETTER GRADE LOWER than what you earned.

Extenuating circumstances will be discussed and taken into account.  However, minor sickness, accidents & car failure are not extenuating circumstances.  Acceptable circumstances are jury duty (with a subpoena), court subpoenas (does not apply if you are a defendant) and military service (with copies of appropriate orders).

Students are responsible for all announcements and assignments that are given on days that the students may be absent.

Lateness will be applied to the above scale.

                                PARTICIPATION
Particiation counts for 10% of the overall grade.  It also encompasses your prepartion for class, behavior, consideration for others and completion of all assignments.

                                         TESTS
Tests will account for 80% of the grade.  The Mid-term and Final exams will each count for 35%.  Spot Quizzes will account for the remaining 10%.

Test questions from in-class films may be included on all tests and quizzes.
There are no Make-Up tests and quizzes.
