Gloria M. Fernandez

Gloria M. Fernandez is a long-term resident of Broward County and is a graduate of the University of Miami, where she earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees. She considers South Florida her home, speaks fluent Spanish (her native language) and conversational French and enjoys the area's multi-cultural environment.

Gloria has enjoyed a productive career in commercial real estate and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of HB Capital, a privately-held real estate owner, investor and developer based in Miami, Florida. The firm focuses on the acquisition, asset management and development of value-add real estate assets in primary and secondary markets throughout the United States.

Previously, she was Managing Director of Asset Management for Elion Partners, a private equity fund specializing in commercial real estate. Gloria oversaw Elion's asset management activities and administered strategies to enhance yields and reduce risks. Her responsibilities encompassed overseeing all aspects of the management process for the Elion portfolio, including qualifying assets with the acquisitions group, executing asset performance plans and managing leasing and property management teams.

Prior to Elion Partners, Gloria was Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Finance for Ross Realty Investments, an established South Florida based developer. In that role, she was active in the acquisition, disposition, financing, development and management of retail centers, office buildings and commercial land. Before Ross Realty Investments, Gloria served in a financial capacity at Swerdlow Real Estate Group (a private Real Estate Investment Trust).

Gloria is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Florida and is involved in various community and professional organizations, including Nova Southeastern University (current Real Estate Advisory Board Member), International Council of Shopping Centers, Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School (former Chair for Board of Trustees), The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance (former member). Gloria believes in the importance of serving the community and considers education to be a "passport" for a better future.
