Are you an outdoor enthusiast or adventure-seeker? Do you enjoy watersports and having fun in the South Florida sun? Get in on the best kept secret in Broward College! Tigertail Lake Recreational Center is Broward College's experiential learning, team building, watersports and ropes course facility.  Centrally and conveniently located between the Broward College campuses, there's no reason not to take a break and go relax in a canoe in between classes!

Students at Broward College can take part in all the great activities and equipment rentals offered at Tigertail Lake for free!  Don't worry, family and friends who aren't Broward College students can still stock up on extra doses of fun for a nominal fee.​
  • Join us once a month for the Tigertail Lake Recreational Center's OPEN CHALLENGE!  Free for active Broward College students and only $15 for the general public, experience the Tigertail Lake ropes course, rock climbing, and more.  Bring a friend, bring the whole family - the Open Challenge is your chance to see what the Tigertail Lake Recreational Center ropes course is all about!  Check out the flyer or give us a call for more information!
  • Challenge yourself and your friends on Tigertail's exciting 40 foot ropes and challenge course! 
  • Learn to sail as a crew member or the skipper of JY 15, Hobie Catamarans, and American 18 sailboats!
  • Windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and so much more! Tigertail Lake Recreational Center is your destination to experience fun in the sun!

 Get hands-on experience from Tigertail's qualified professionals and have lots of fun learning how to sail through Broward College's Continuing Education Program.​ From the small, fast JY15 to the cruising American 18, Tigertail Lake's sailing program is second to none. ​ Tigertail Adventure Trips​​



Join Tigertail on exciting excursions to build skills and camaraderie. These multi-day adventures take place on beautiful Long Key, Florida or on the pristine waters of Florida Springs in the Ocala National Forest. We supply the gear, transportation, lodging and most of the food. Cost varies depending on the trip.

One of the most amazing and unique aspects of Tigertail Lake Recreational Center is our experiential education and team-building program.  Featuring a full ropes course with four towers, a specially designed team-building area, and a team of professionally-trained experiential educators, Tigertail Lake Recreational Center is one of only a handful of programs to offer such a complete team-building experience.

​Tigertail Lake Recreational Center's equipment and facilities are, for the most part, free for Broward College students.  However, there are a few exceptions, and the facility is open to the public.  Rates for equipment rentals are as follows:

The Tigertail Lake Ropes/Challenge Course is available to the public, once a month, during the "Open Challenge".  As always, the Open Challenge is free for Broward College students, and is only $15 for the general public ($10 for Broward College staff).  The Open Challenge is an excellent opportunity for individuals to experience the Tigertail Lake Ropes Course and the challenges it provides!

Tigertail Lake Recreational Center is great for private parties, especially birthday parties!  Tigertail Lake Recreational Center has all the facilities you need for your next party:

  • Outdoor pavilion on the waterfront, with a beautiful view of the lake
  • Plenty of picnic tables and seating for nearly any number of participants.
  • Our famous charcoal-powered grill is available for cooking burgers, hot dogs, steaks with extra flavor.
  • Canoes, kayaks, sailboats, and stand-up paddleboards (subject to availability, of course).  
  • Our famous Tigertail Lake Recreational Center Challenge and Ropes Course, including a climbing wall, 40 foot towers, traversing elements, and even a Giant Swing!

Three different plans make it easy to have the perfect party:

Water Fun Party - 2 hours: Canoeing, Kayaking, Stand-Up Paddleboards, or Sailing!  Your party will have access to our 5-acre lake on their choice of watersport, including canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (subject to availability), or even sailboats (subject to availability).  For more information about specific availability of a particular watersport, please call 954-201-4500.
*$250USD for the first 10 people. $17USD/person after 10 participants.
**Pricing includes lifeguard, equipment, and use of outdoor pavilion.  Additional cost for instructors or and/or skipper.

Climbing Party - 2 hours:  Climbing at the Tigertail Lake Recreational Center Challenge and Ropes Course!  Experience Tigertail Lake Recreational Center's amazing challenge course firsthand as you climb our towers, challenge yourself on the climbing wall, scale the cargo net, or feel the rush of the giant swing (subject to availability)!
*$250USD for the first 10 people. $17USD/person beyond 10 participants.
**Pricing includes belayers, climbing equipment, and use of Ropes Course Picnic Area.  Additional cost for instructors.

Xtreme Party - 3 hours: What's more fun that climbing or watersports?  How about climbing AND watersports?  Our Xtreme Party combines the two things you love, climbing and watersports, into one amazing experience.  Climb the Tigertail Lake Recreational Center Challenge and Ropes Course, and then choose your watersports on our five acre lake for the ultimate outdoor party experience.
*$300USD for the first 10 people. $22USD/person beyond 10 participants.
**Price includes belayer(s), lifeguard(s), climbing equipment, watersports equipment, and use of outdoor pavilion.  Additional cost for instructors and/or skipper.
