Summer SmartsheetBroward College Adult and Community Education courses and programs are offered ongoing throughout the semester. This makes it easy to start or continue pursuing a credential or degree at times convenient for you.
Course and schedule are subject to change without notice based on space and funding availability. Enrollment is on a first-come basis and attendance must be confirmed on the first day of class.
A few things to note:
Students will be required to attend orientation with their assigned CPN, complete a pre-assessment and communicate regularly with their assigned Career Pathway Navigator (CPN). Please be sure to read all course information and requirements.
Orientation will be held at the YMCA for all in-person classes. Your CPN will provide you with details regarding your specific orientation date/time. You will also be required to come to the YMCA for the pre-assessment if your selected course requires an assessment. You MUST attend orientation, even if you have attended previously.
This program is designed to support your academic and career endeavors. Your alignment with a particular pathway is designed to assist you in securing employment or upscaling in your current job. Upon completion of your initial course with us, you will be working with a workforce specialist to assist you with job skills such as your resume, interviewing and other employment related opportunities.
Currently, funding is available for no more than two (2) industry certification courses per student. Once you have reached this maximum, we will work with you to secure employment or to transition to a degree-seeking program.

BCEx Lean Launchpad Accelerator is a program for current and aspiring entrepreneurs. It teaches Steve Blanks Lean Launchpad, combined with the Value Proposition Canvas (VPC) concepts from Alexander Osterwalder, with lectures developed by Terence Bentley, the consultant who instructs the course. This course uses Blanks Customer Development process and Osterwalder’s Business Model Generation (BMG) and Value Proposition Design (VPD) to collapse the many possibilities of a startup or existing business into a set of solvable problems to create a sustainable and scalability business model. It is a project-based learning environment or an immersive lab that helps learners create multiple business model hypotheses and test them outside the classroom. Inside the classroom, it requires learners to pitch their ideas and collaborate with other entrepreneurs each week.

Description: The Certified Administrative Professional course provides you with a broad selection of essential skills and knowledge to effectively work as an administrative assistant in fields including education, technology, government, and medicine. This certificate track course includes: the role of warehousing in the supply chain, storage and handling techniques performance metrics, inventory management, customer service considerations, and safety concerns across various types of distribution facilities.

Description: Warehousing Operations encompasses the processes, procedures, tools, and equipment within a warehouse facility as enablers for an efficient, effective, and comprehensive supply chain. Warehouses do not operate as stand-alone facilities but function to vary degrees with Inventory Management, Transportation Operations, Demand Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Customer Service functions. The charter, mission, and goals developed by an organization will dictate the role of the supply chain to meet those objectives. This role will further define the requirements for warehousing operations ranging from a simple, single storage facility to a total distribution or fulfillment network. This certification track is intended to train students in the basics of warehousing operations and to generate a broader awareness of the role of warehousing operations in distribution networks. Key elements of this certification track include: an overview of warehousing, the role of warehousing in the supply chain, facility configuration, storage and handling techniques, performance metrics, customer service considerations, and safety concerns across various types of distribution facilities. The goal of this certification track is to prepare students to successfully pass the Warehouse Operations certification examination.
