Class - A Commercial Driving License (CDL) Course

Broward College now offers an entry-level CDL Truck Driving course! This program provides students with the skills and driving experience necessary to thrive in this career by obtaining a nationally recognized, in-demand Commercial Driving License. 

This is a 4–week, 160–hour course developed by Fleet Force in cooperation with national trucking companies. The course includes instruction, two attempts at the CDL test, and a robust job placement program. Entry-level CDL drivers can earn over $80K annually.

Course Details

Classes are held Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day

The course has components at two Broward County locations:

  • Orientation: Broward College @ the YMCA - 1409 Sistrunk Blvd., 4th Floor, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
  • Instruction: FLA Live Arena - 1 Panther Parkway, Sunrise, FL 33323  

New classes start weekly

Licensed instructors work closely with each student through hours of hands-on training on how to operate all aspects of a commercial vehicle properly and safely

Course completion and graduation require passing a three-part skills test 

The CDL course has a value of $7,500. Scholarships are available!

Admissions Requirements

Program applicants are required to adhere to the following admissions requirements:

18 Years or Older

Have a High School Diploma or GED

Possess a Valid Driver's License

Have an Acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record

Pass the Department of Transportation's Physical

Pass the Department of Transportation's Drug Screening
