Power BI Desktop Basics
The purpose of this session is to introduce participants to Power BI and demonstrate how a single dataset can be transformed into a compelling, interactive dashboard. Simple Ways to Improve D2L Course Accessibility  This session introduces participants to accessibility checkers available in D2L and commonly used instructional tools that support accessible course content. Through guided, hands-on activities, participants will work directly in their D2L courses, Simple Syllabus, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and PDFs to identify and address accessibility issues. Streamline your Workflow using Gemini as your TA The purpose of this workshop is to explore how faculty can use an AI (artificial intelligence) tool as their teaching assistant to improve productivity and enhance instruction and learning. Faculty will actively participate in the workshop through interactive, hands-on activities, use Gemini to develop lessons and classroom materials/activities that promote student engagement and critical thinking. This session explores current research on how the brain engages when using AI, the impact of AI-supported research tools on student learning, and recent AI integrations within search engines and library resources. Through presentation and facilitated discussion, participants will examine how these tools are reshaping the research process and the ways students seek and evaluate information. BC Academic Advisement:
Systems Training
Beginning in April 2026, Academic Advising will transition to the newly implemented Student Information System (SIS) and advising platforms. This interactive training session is designed to support Advisors during the rollout by providing essential updates and guided, hands-on practice with the Banner, Degree Works, and CRM Advise modules. Procurement Department 101 This session introduces faculty and staff to the College’s procurement processes, including requisitions, purchase orders, supplier registration, and the P-Card/T-Card program. The workshop provides a high-level, 101-level overview for those new to the College or seeking a refresher. A Mindful Reboot for Educators
Participants will explore practical mindfulness tools to pause, breathe, and reboot their energy so they can return to work refreshed, focused, and calm. Through interactive discussions, guided breathing exercises, and short reflective activities, participants will experience how even brief moments of mindfulness can improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance emotional resilience. Becoming the Best You Through Tech
This session showcases experiential learning activities (ELAs) supported by Project ACCESS across disciplines including science, art, engineering, and computer science. Through fully hands-on demonstrations using 3D printers, LEGO SPIKE kits, Arduino activities, and XR technologies, participants will actively engage with a range of experiential tools. UFF-BC Chapter Discussion of the CBA This session provides an overview of the UFF–BC Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and creates space for full-time faculty to ask questions and engage in open discussion. Understanding Your Defined Pension  Led by a certified public pension trustee and fiduciary serving on the Dania Beach Police and Fire Pension Board, this session will examine how pension funding works, what it means for a pension to be fully funded, and how current salaries impact future retirement benefits. Participants will gain insight into the training, credentials, and ongoing education required of pension trustees and engage in discussion on the importance of collective advocacy for wage increases that keep pace with or exceed inflation.
