Simple Steps to Bring Your Book
Have you ever dreamed of writing a book, perhaps a memoir, a technical guide for your students, or a picture book for your grandchildren, but didn’t know where to start? This exploratory session introduces practical steps for turning an idea into a written project. Through guided activities and discussion, participants will explore how to shape an idea, find their voice, and organize thoughts into a clear structure. A Soft Skills Escape Room
The Soft Skills Escape Room is an interactive, team-based professional development experience designed to strengthen essential workplace competencies through collaborative problem-solving. Participants will rotate through challenge stations focused on effective communication, teamwork and collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving, and professionalism, unlocking each stage through hands-on, immersive activities. Seahawk NEST Student Roundtable  This exploratory session introduces faculty, staff, and administrators to the Seahawk NEST, highlighting its purpose, the students it serves, and opportunities for involvement. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how the Seahawk NEST supports student success and how members of the College community can engage with this initiative. Ready Set Accessible This exploratory session invites faculty to bring their own course materials and work hands-on to improve document accessibility. With guided support, participants will explore practical techniques for aligning materials with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles. Exploring AI for Teaching & Learning This exploratory session offers faculty a hands-on opportunity to engage with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and NotebookLM to examine how they can support teaching and learning. Through brief, guided activities, participants will experiment with generating instructional materials, analyzing student work, and organizing course content using discipline-relevant examples. Collaborative discussion will highlight practical applications, opportunities, and limitations, and participants will leave with concrete strategies and curated prompts for integrating AI thoughtfully and responsibly into their courses. Connect, Engage, Inspire Through Zoom Tools Led by a Zoom representative, this exploratory session will examine how faculty can leverage Zoom’s advanced features and integrated apps to create dynamic, engaging learning experiences. Participants will learn practical strategies to use LTI Integration, Scheduler, and Zoom Clips to streamline workflows, personalize communication, and boost student participation. A Fresh Take on Regular Substantive Interaction (RSI)
This exploratory session equips faculty and administrators to move beyond confusion and compliance fatigue to confidently meet the U.S. Department of Education’s Regular Substantive Interaction (RSI) requirements for online and blended courses. Through case studies and collaborative discussion, you will explore how RSI bridges federal policy with effective pedagogy. You’ll gain clarity on what counts as regular, substantive interaction, why it matters, and how to implement it in ways that enhance, rather than hinder, your teaching. Exploring XR Strategies for Student Success  This exploratory session highlights innovative teaching practices emerging from the Extended Reality (XR)  Institute through an interactive poster showcase and facilitated panel discussion. Participants will engage with faculty-created posters featuring real classroom applications of XR, explore select immersive experiences firsthand, and hear from XR Institute participants as they share insights, challenges, and lessons learned. From Ideas to Impact
This exploratory session introduces participants to the Broward College Entrepreneurship Experience (BCEx) and the entrepreneurial mindset at the heart of its growing community. Participants will explore key BCEx practices and discover ways to get involved, share opportunities, and create value across the College and beyond. Through guided discussion, interactive activities, and hands-on reflection, participants will examine real-world entrepreneurial principles and apply them to everyday challenges. Participants will leave with new perspectives, practical strategies, and resources to ignite their inner entrepreneur and take action with confidence and purpose. Escape the Glitch:
An IT Escape Room Experience
This exploratory, team-based session invites faculty and staff to participate in an interactive IT Escape Room experience. Working collaboratively, participants will solve realistic Broward College technology challenges related to cybersecurity, classroom technology, cloud tools, and IT support systems. Through hands-on problem-solving and guided debriefing, participants will gain practical insight into BC-supported tools, common troubleshooting steps, and how to efficiently access IT support—strengthening confidence and preparedness in everyday technology situations.
