Program

Where Business Meets a Changing World - What does a rapidly growing economy look like up close? Travel to Vietnam and find out.

This ten (10)-day faculty-led program takes business students across three distinct regions of Vietnam—Hanoi, Hoi An/Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City—to explore a country that has become an increasingly important player in the global economy. From the political and economic center of Hanoi to the rapidly developing central coast and the commercial energy of Ho Chi Minh City, students will experience the remarkable diversity of Vietnam while examining the forces shaping its economic future.

Along the way, students will explore how businesses operate in an emerging market and consider the real-world connections between international trade, global supply chains, entrepreneurship, investment, and economic development. Vietnam's growing role in Southeast Asian commerce provides a unique opportunity to see how businesses and economies adapt to a rapidly changing global marketplace.

But Vietnam is more than business. Students will experience a country where thousands of years of history meet a young, energetic, and increasingly globalized population. Discover the vibrant streets of Hanoi, the historic charm of Hoi An, the coastal energy of Da Nang, and the fast-paced metropolitan culture of Ho Chi Minh City. Along the way, experience Vietnamese cuisine, traditions, architecture, and everyday life.

See the global economy from a different perspective. Explore Vietnam, experience its culture, and discover how one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic economies is connecting to the world.

Why Vietnam?

Vietnam is a country of incredible contrasts, unforgettable experiences, and endless discoveries. From the moment you arrive, you will find yourself surrounded by a culture that is distinctly Vietnamese yet constantly evolving.

Explore the historic streets of Hanoi, where French colonial architecture, ancient temples, colorful markets, and modern cafés coexist. Wander through the atmospheric streets of Hoi An, famous for its beautifully preserved Old Town, colorful lanterns, riverside setting, and centuries-old architecture. Experience Da Nang, a vibrant coastal city known for its beaches, mountains, modern skyline, and growing food and cultural scene. Then discover Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest metropolis, where towering skyscrapers, bustling markets, historic landmarks, street food, and a thriving nightlife showcase the country's fast-paced modern side.

And then there is the food. Vietnamese cuisine is an experience in itself. Sample steaming bowls of pho, crispy banh mi, fresh spring rolls, fragrant noodle dishes, Vietnamese coffee, and countless regional specialties. Street food is not simply something you eat in Vietnam—it is part of the culture and a window into everyday life.

Vietnam also offers remarkable history and scenery. Explore ancient temples and historic neighborhoods, see traditional architecture, visit vibrant local markets, and experience landscapes ranging from dramatic mountains and rice fields to tropical beaches and coastal villages. Everywhere you go, there is something new to see, taste, and experience.

What makes Vietnam especially exciting is the way old and new come together. Motorbikes fill the streets while modern skyscrapers rise above historic buildings. Traditional markets operate alongside sophisticated shopping districts. Ancient cultural traditions remain an important part of daily life as a young and increasingly global population looks toward the future.
