Description: This course introduces students to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Customer Service Operations (CSO), focusing on practices and technologies used to manage and analyze customer interactions and data. Description: This course train students in the basics of demand planning so they can quickly familiarize themselves with and become effective contributors to the demand planning processes that are part of SCM. Description: This program prepares students to perform EKGs and includes information on the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, electrocardiography, and stress testing. This comprehensive 50-hour EKG Technician Certification Program prepares students to function as EKG Technicians and to take the ASPT - Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician exam and other National Certification Exams. Additionally, students will practice with EKG equipment and perform hands-on labs including an introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper lead placement, 12-lead placement, and other clinical practices.

Description: Family literacy is a comprehensive Intergeneration approach to education that focuses on improving the literacy skills and educational outcomes of all family members, from parents and caregivers to children. It recognizes that literacy is not limited to individual learners but extends to the entire family unit. Parents can work towards passing their GED? test or improving their English skills while helping their children to succeed in school. By participating in education together, families have a greater chance at success. This program provides opportunities for students to achieve their personal and educational goals. Students studying for their GED, learning English and improving their employability skills can also participate in a variety of workshops and interactive literacy activities for both students and their children. The program supports students’ growth as learners, workers, parents, and community members. To enroll in the Family Literacy Program, students must be 16 years or older, enrolled in English or GED classes, participate in activities to help their children learn and participate in parenting skills training.

Description: This course enables students to understand the various functions involved in the operation of a warehouse. This certificate track course includes: the role of warehousing in the supply chain, storage and handling techniques performance metrics, inventory management, customer service considerations, and safety concerns across various types of distribution facilities.

Eligibility: Applicants must be 18 or older for all Broward UP courses. Health Science courses require applicants to have completed a high school diploma or GED. Our Adult Education Program can assist you if you have not completed a high school diploma or GED.
Only one (1) course can be taken at a time.
Participants MUST show proof of completion for all previous courses.
With the exception of the Supply Chain Management series of courses, students are only eligible for one (1) course per semester, not to exceed two (2) courses over their time in the program. This excludes GED and ESOL courses.
A Pre-Admission Assessment is REQUIRED for many Broward UP courses. Admission to certain courses is contingent upon successful completion of the pre-assessment.
Funding: Through grant funding, Broward UP offers free courses and workshops to qualifying students who reside in the following zip codes: 33309, 33311, 33313, 33314, 33319, 33023, 33020, 33069, 33064, 33441, and 33065, and those referred by community partners. Certain restrictions apply.
Other internal and external funding opportunities may be available for eligible students outside these areas. We also work with students who are interested in seeking or returning to complete a degree program at Broward College. The Career Pathway Navigator team assists students with determining available opportunities.
