Students who received services through the Broward County Public Schools' Homeless Educational Assistance Resource Team (HEART) should complete Broward College's Homeless Exemption Certification form, found on the Admissions and Registration Forms page, Admissions & Registration tab, and attach their HEART letter and driver's license or other government-issued ID.
Students Experiencing Homelessness
To receive the tuition exemption, students must have the Florida Student Homelessness (FSH-1) form completed and signed by an authorized individual.
Students who are residing in homeless shelters or other transitional housing, or who are working with a certified homeless support agency, should have a designated official of that residence/agency complete and sign Part 1 of the FSH-1 form. The student should then visit the Admissions and Registration Forms page, Admissions & Registration tab, and complete the Homeless Exemption Certification form. Student should respond YES to the question regarding the FSH-1 form and attach the completed FSH-1 form and their government ID where indicated.
Students who are not being assisted by a certified homeless support program should complete the SOS Intake (found on the SOS website or by clicking the SOS tile in their BC One Access account) and CLEARLY explain their housing situation in the field that asks them to describe their current situation. SOS staff will contact the student to discuss their needs and assist in the completion of the FSH-1 form.
