There are two (2) types of BC health science programs:

Limited access programs -  Limited seats available, students must meet program pre-requisites upon application, and must apply within program’s application period. Students who are accepted into this program type and accept their offered seat in the program must also complete required background check, drug screening, medical history, and physical examination specific to the applicable program.

BC limited access health science program process

  • Once you apply for a BC limited access health science program, BC Health Science Admissions staff will determine your eligibility for the program you applied for.
  • If you are determined eligible for the program, then a $20 program application fee will be assessed. This fee is additional and separate from the $35 or $75 application fee.
  • When the program’s application period closes, BC Health Science Admissions staff will send you a decision of whether you were accepted into the program within 30 days after the program’s application period closes.
  • If you are accepted into the program, you must communicate with BC staff whether you accept or decline the seat that was offered to you. If you accept it, then you will be sent follow-up information regarding next steps.
  • Students who are accepted into this program type and accept their offered seat in the program must also complete required background check, drug screening, medical history, and physical examination specific to the applicable program.
Please note that eligibility for a BC limited access program does not guarantee acceptance.

OR

Open enrollment programs - Unlimited seats, students must meet program pre-requisites upon application, and may apply at any time.

BC open enrollment health science program process

  • Once you apply for a BC open enrollment health science program, BC Health Science Admissions staff will determine your eligibility for the program you applied for.
  • If you are determined to be eligible for the program, then you will be admitted into the program and guided for next steps towards course registration.

Program application periods, required prerequisites, and admissions selection criteria for each program are listed in the Health Sciences Program Prerequisite chart.

Health Science programs are limited access and have specific prerequisite requirements that must be completed with a grade of "C" or above prior to submitting the application for consideration for admission. Admission decisions are based on the strength of the application pool to fill limited seats.

All Applicants must complete a Broward College Application prior to submitting the supplemental Limited Access Application for the Health Sciences.

All required documentation must be received by Broward College by the close of the published application periods.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For students who are applying to Broward College for the first time, and have transfer credits, it is recommended that all documentation be sent at least 7 business days prior to the close of the published application period for the program you are applying to.
