Internship EDGE Program

What better way to gain valuable work experience than through Broward College’s Internship EDGE Program! An internship allows you to temporarily work for an employer in a field related to your career aspirations and earn college credits at the same time!

Broward College defines an internship as:

  • Any short-term, supervised work experience specifically related to a student’s declared major, for which the student earns academic credit. Please note: Students pay the standard tuition rate for a (3) credit internship course.
    • BC does not support non-credit internships unless students are being paid a minimum wage salary or higher.
  • The internship should provide the student with a meaningful experience directly related to their course of study.
  • Students are required to complete 144 work hours and all internship course assignments in order to complete the (3) credit internship course.

Student Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at BC.
  • Completed 24 college credits.
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Complete mandatory orientation. Orientation dates are posted at www.broward.edu/ccn, the College’s online job board.

Please note: Students pay the standard tuition rate for a (3) credit internship course. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

  • Gain practical experience and job knowledge.

There are various ways for BC students to participate in an internship. The Internship EDGE Program is a “for credit” internship which is channeled through the Career Centers and the District Academic Affairs department. Other internships are managed through discipline departments. The info-graph below outlines the path you should take in order to participate in an internship.
