Music General Admissions

If you love music, you are invited to study and perform with us. You can choose from a variety of outlets that suit your musical creativity, including the Broward Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band, Broward Choral Society, Select Choir, Broward Symphonic Band or any of our many Jazz Combos.  Broward College's music area of study is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

Steps to Get Started

Please ensure you are officially enrolled in Broward College before you register for Music classes. If you have not yet enrolled in the college, apply to begin the admission process.

Choose an Instrument

Classical: Brass Instruments (Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba), Guitar, Percussion, Piano, String Instruments (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass), Wind instruments (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone), Harp or Voice.

Jazz:  Bass (Electric or String), Drum/Percussion, Guitar, Piano, Saxophone, Trombone, or Trumpet.

Other instruments available upon request.

Schedule Audition

Setup your audition appointment by emailing the correct professor for your instrument:

  • Jazz Bass, Jazz Guitar and Classical Guitar: Professor Fernando Ulibarri   
  • Classical Piano, Classical Percussion, Harp, String Instruments and Organ: Dr. Jure Rozman   

At your audition you will receive an advising sheet. Please ensure that both you and your auditioner have signed and that the contact information is thoroughly filled out.  This advising sheet must be presented to a Music Advisor at the time of registration (visit Building 4, Room 130 on Central Campus or email 


Please schedule an advising appointment with your Arts, Humanities, Communication and Design (AHCD) Advisor through your myBC account.

We encourage all students to apply for Financial Aid (FAFSA). We also have scholarship opportunities* available. After you complete your FAFSA application you can apply for scholarships on a yearly basis.

To be eligible for scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Must be a degree-seeking student
  • Must have at least 6 credits (part-time) in the given term
  • Must have completed FAFSA for the current school year
  • Must have completed the scholarship application

*Music scholarships are awarded based on performance and require you to be an advanced performer and/or in an advanced ensemble.
