Mercedes A. Quiroga
Dr. Quiroga is Campus President of the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus. She came to Broward College from Miami Dade College, where she served for more than 20 years in a variety of positions, including Director of Student Retention; Chairperson, department of arts and philosophy; Provost and CEO, New World School of the Arts; and most recently as President MDC, Wolfson Campus. In her most recent role, she provided oversight and direction to the Honors College, the Miami Book Fair International, Miami Culinary Institute, Virtual College and to several new programs to increase student success. Dr. Quiroga was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Humanities Council for a three-year term ending September of 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and a master's degree in art history and Ph.D. in educational leadership from the University of Miami.
