Alex Denis
Alex Denis serves as Vice President for Operations at Broward College. In this role he provides leadership in the areas of business services and resource management (including procurement, risk management, supplier diversity and sustainability), facilities management (including construction and renovation, maintenance, planning and capital budgeting), auxiliary services (including retail/bookstores' operations, food services, printing services, and document management), and safety, security and emergency management for all College campuses and centers.
Prior to joining the administration of Broward College in 2003, Denis served at the School Board of Broward County, Florida in various positions for eight years.
Denis is an active member of the community serving on various boards and committees. Through the sharing of his extensive experience in operations management, he has supported local and national organizations with leadership and technical assistance including the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, the National Association of College and University Business Officers and the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing.
Denis earned a baccalaureate degree from Florida International University and a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). In 2009 he completed the College Business Management Institute at the University of Kentucky. In 2010, he was awarded a full scholarship established by the Association of Florida Colleges and NSU to attend the doctoral program in organizational leadership at the NSU Fischler School of Education and Human Services where he is currently working toward an Ed.D.
