What topics are covered in workshops?

 

To have the greatest positive impact on the lives of participants, a variety of personal and professional areas are covered. These include:

When are workshops offered?

 

We have daytime programs from 9 am to 12 pm, Monday through Friday, for three weeks. We also offer an evening schedule from 6 pm to 9 pm, Tuesdays and Thursday, for six weeks.

 

Where can I attend WINGS workshops?

 

Workshops are offered on the North, South and Central campuses of Broward Community College.

 

What are the support services offered?

 

After workshop completion, participants are offered a free computer literacy class. This 15 hour class is offered in an evening program. We have other free seminars and programs that are announced throughout the year. Our popular networking organization of past participants meets once a month for discussion and socializing.

 

Is this service only for individuals going back to school?

 

No. Our service is for women returning to school, going back into the workforce, and for women pursuing self-employment opportunities.

 

Is there any financial eligibility?

 

No.

 

Is there any cost for services?

 

No, all services are free of charge.

 

Can I see a counselor on a one-on-one basis?

 

Yes. We have counselors located on the North and South Campus of BCC. Call North Campus at (954) 201-2398 or South Campus at (954) 201-8874 for an individual appointment.

 

Do you offer services in Spanish?

 

Yes. We offer both our workshop and basic computer literacy class in Spanish.
