Credit for Prior Learning




Get a jumpstart on obtaining your degree through Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) at Broward College. CPL options allow you the opportunity to earn college credits for knowledge and skills you’ve obtained while in high school, at work and other life experiences, or in the military.  If you answer "yes" to any of the following questions CPL could be right for you!

  • Do you have over five years of work experience in a particular field? 
  • Did you complete a career program at your high school?
  • Did you complete a certificate or apprenticeship program at a Broward Technical College?
  • Did you participate in AP, IB, Cambridge AICE, or Dual Enrollment programs at your high school?
  • Have you completed any professional training or earned any professional certifications?
  • Are you currently serving in the United States Military?
  • Are you a United States Veteran?
  • Do you have significant volunteer involvement that utilizes your professional skills?
  • Do you have fewer than five classes left to graduate?
