  • Be enrolled as a student in a Florida public or non-public secondary school or home education program in Broward County
  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school grade point average (GPA)
  • College level test scores in all areas – English, Reading and Math

Continued Eligibility
  • Complete a Dual Enrollment Recommendation Form each term with parent/legal guardian, student, school counselor and principal signatures
  • Maintain a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA
  • Maintain a 2.0 Broward College GPA
  • Earn a grade of “C” or better in each college course
  • Early Admission and College Academy students who receive a “D” or “F” grade may only be allowed to continue taking courses if approved by the school counselor from the high school and still meet eligibility requirements.

DE Approved Course List
​It is the responsibility of the school counselor to select courses from the approved course list that fulfill high school graduation requirements. For advising assistance you may refer to the Dual Enrollment Frequently Taken Courses chart or the Associate in Arts program sheet on BC’s website.
 
Student Checklists
​Broward College is excited to offer secondary school students the opportunity to be a part of our dual enrollment program!  Students are now able to apply and register for approved courses online.  The checklists provided will guide you through the dual enrollment registration process.  Please contact your school counselor at your school should you have any questions!

Bookstore

Public School Students

Public school students are required to order textbooks online through their myBC account.  Please see the step-by-step instructions below.

  • If you are enrolled in courses at multiple campuses you will be required to pick up your textbooks from multiple campuses. 
  • You are not required to have the textbook acquisition form any longer.
  • If you are enrolled in a course at your high school site, your school will provide you with your textbook.
  • Students are no longer required to pay for their textbooks during the summer terms.

 

Charter School Students

Charter school students should bring a copy of their Dual Enrollment Recommendation Form and a copy of their BC schedule to a Broward College Bookstore to obtain their textbooks.  The textbook acquisition form is no longer required.  Charter school students should not order their textbooks online. 

 

Private School Students and Home School Students

Private school students and home school students are required to pay for their textbooks each term.  Students can order their books online or bring a copy of their BC course schedule to the bookstore and ask for assistance in finding their textbooks.

Honors Institute

​Students who are interested in enrolling in honors courses while enrolled as a dual enrollment or early admission student will need to meet the honors admissions criteria and fill out an honors application.  Please visit www.broward.edu/academics/honors for the most updated honors admissions information.
