The Building Construction Technology program emphasizes hands-on, real-world applications in construction methods. Your training will be focused on the latest state-of-the-art techniques and the fundamentals of building construction. Our curriculum allows you to create a foundation for a career in construction management and supervision, and offers a clear-cut advantage in today’s competitive job market. Courses focus on:
- Building codes and standards
- Managing construction projects
- How to coordinate with local infrastructure
- Working with construction documents and estimates
Class sizes in the core program are small, with about 20 students on average for each class. The intimacy of small class sizes gives you the opportunity to build camaraderie with your classmates, in addition to asking questions of your professors without having to compete to get their attention.
Classes are located at the Willis Holcombe Center in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, and are conveniently offered in the day, evening, on Saturdays or online. Our program and faculty’s flexibility make it possible for you to earn your degree even if you are employed full time.

Broward College’s experienced faculty and local industry leaders such as the Association of Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC), Centex Rooney Construction, Inc., the Construction Association of South Florida (CASF), Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., and the Stiles Corporation have collaborated to develop a curriculum that addresses the construction industry’s specific needs in Broward and South Florida. The relationship between our active professors and industry leaders produces graduates with relevant training and provides employers with capable employees.
