About IPS Testing Center

The Institute of Public Safety (IPS) Criminal Justice Testing Center located at Broward College Central Campus is a regional assessment center serving applicants pursuing a law enforcement or corrections career.

The IPS Testing Center is not a hiring agency. We are a regional selection center for those who wish to apply in law enforcement or corrections. Tests administered at IPS comply with the State of Florida's Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) and the Broward County Chiefs of Police Association standards. 

How to get started in your Law Enforcement career:

2.   Determine the requirements of the agency where you wish to apply

3.   Schedule and pass the required test here at IPS

4.   Print results and follow the agency application requirements

Online CJBAT Practice Exams Available: Practice exams provide feedback for each CJBAT ability to measure exam strengths and weaknesses. You see which items you got wrong and what the answer should have been. Go to the following link to get started:

Criminal Justice Testing Center Announcements
The IPS Regional Testing Center will no longer accept cash as payment for any pre-employment testing or fingerprinting processing.

We will accept credit card, debit card or money orders as payment.

 Please make sure you maintain a copy of your doctor's form as the Testing Center is not able to make photocopies. A copy of the form is required each time an applicant is testing for either the Swim or BMST.

Effective October 1, 2017 Testing Center Fees will increase.
  • Basic Motor Skills Test (Agility) $30
  • CJBAT $50
  • TABE $40
  • Swim Test $25

Testing Registration and Log In
All test registrations take place online. To sign up for a test:
  1. Register with IPS Testing Center—Fill in the application information and receive a CJTC ID. Be sure to note your ID for future reference. 
  2. Log in to schedule IPS tests—Use your CJTC ID and PIN (automatically set for birth month and year) to sign in and schedule tests.

What are the Testing Center Hours?

How soon are test results posted
​The Swim and Basic Abilities Test results are posted the same day the test is taken.
The TABE test results are posted the day after the test is taken.
The CJBAT test results are posted after 4:00 PM the Wednesday of the week the test is taken.
In the event of a holiday or weather related emergency the posting of the test results may be delayed
How long is the Medical Clearance Form good for
Effective May 1, 2017 the Medical Clearance form will be valid for six (6) months from the date of the doctor's signature.
