Program Overview
Broward College is proud to present our completely redesigned Engineering Technology Associates Degree. Our degree includes Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) classes that will prepare you for the nationally recognized MSSC certification. All this is being offered right in your back yard at Broward College North Campus.
 
Why should they attend this particular program?
  • Students will be intensively trained to be skilled in a technology-driven manufacturing field.
  • Manufacturing is an unrepresented industry in Florida and has considerable room for growth for a variety of reasons.

Is This Program Right for Me?
This program is particularly suitable for students who wish to become engineers in product design and manufacturing roles and who wish to gain further skills and take on more responsibility in the workplace.You will be introducing new ideas and technologies in safety, quality, production, medicine, electronics and communication. To succeed in our program, you should be:

  • Passionate about design, development, math and science principles.
  • Open-minded about challenging the norm.

Manufacturing testing center and courses are approved by: The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC)
 
The Engineering Technology Program is approved by: The Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) College Training Program to prepare graduates for employment opportunities with the FAA.
Faculty
Courses are taught by faculty members whose qualifications are based on both experience and education. Our faculty members include graduates of the University of Florida, Florida Atlantic University, University of Pittsburgh, Nova Southeastern University and the University of Jordan. In addition, specially qualified individuals from the engineering industry are invited as guest lecturers to teach selected courses. Faculty advisors within the major are available to provide one-on-one assistance to you throughout your course of study.

​What is the MSSC?  Manufacturing Skill Standards Council. This is the leading certification organization for front line manufacturing and logistics workers. 

Does Broward College offer the MSSC (Manufacturing Skill Standards Council) classes? Yes; safety, quality, measurement and instrumentation, process and materials.

Where can I take the MSSC certification exam? Broward College’s North Campus is an approved testing center in southeast Florida.

What tracks can I specialize in this program?  Electronics, Biomedical and Alternative Energy

Are there any certificates in this area I can quickly attain?  Engineering Technology Support Specialist Certificate (6314), Electronics Aide Technical Certificate (6322), Alternative Energy Systems Specialist Certificate (6325).
