You’ll be meeting people from all walks of life, from all over the world. What you’ll learn at BC will allow you to move comfortably within the marine industry at all levels from the very first day you start working. And the A.A.S. that you’ll earn will benefit you not just in the short term, but throughout your life. 
 
Broward College’s Marine Engineering Management Program is an accredited two-year college program taught by experienced marine industry professionals. At BC, you’ll learn the practical details of your craft from instructors who have worked on the complicated systems of today’s yachts, mega-yachts and super-yachts.
The Marine Technology Center of Excellence is housed in a 30,000 square foot facility donated by the BC Foundation. This is where the majority of your hands-on training will take place, which will allow you to master all the skills that are in high demand by the marine industry.
Career Paths
footer head pic.jpgThe sophisticated systems of today’s yachts, mega-yachts and super-yachts are quite different. They require highly trained technicians with specialized knowledge to understand, maintain and repair them. It has created an overwhelming demand for well-trained marine technicians worldwide. Marine engineering jobs are expected to rise steadily through 2020, and the estimated median salary of marine engineers in the country was $80,000 in 2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
 
Many of our graduates have found work quickly after earning their degree and obtaining Marine Certification through ABYC.

Courses

Photo_Gal_11_11.jpgAn associate’s degree in Marine Engineering Management can be earned with 66 credit hours consisting of:

    38 Marine and Technical Service credits

    28 General Education credits
 
The program takes just two years to complete on a full-time schedule.
All hands-on training takes place at the AutoNation Automotive/Marine Center. General Education courses can be taken at any Broward College campus.
