Learning Community Types

Classes designed as Learning Communities (LCs) are part of an innovative program for enriching student success.  Learning Communities are purposefully restructured by collaborating faculty to link curricula or coursework for greater integration of learning and coherence in making learning connections. Students in LCs collaborate and typically find more opportunities for interaction with faculty, peers and academic support staff.

Integrated assignments and projects in LCs ensure that students get the best possible learning experience. Students have the benefit of interacting and bonding with other students and faculty. Learning Community courses are regular, General Education, Prep courses, and first-year experiences in which students can expand their learning without an additional workload.

Faculty collaborates and pursues involvement in a variety of Learning Communities at Broward College.
