Health Sciences Admissions

Broward College (BC) offers 20 accredited limited access health science programs for individuals wishing to become healthcare professionals and for those who are health professionals seeking professional growth and development.

Specific prerequisite requirements must be completed with a grade of "C" or above prior to submitting an application to your program of choice. Program admission decisions are based on the strength of the applicant pool in each application period to fill limited seats.

Step 1: Complete Program Pre-requisites

Health Science programs are limited access and have specific prerequisite requirements which must be completed with a grade of “C” or above prior to submitting the application for consideration for admission. Admission decisions are based on the strength of the application pool to fill limited seats.

Step 2: Submit All Official Transcripts

Request that your official college transcripts from other institutions you have attended be sent to a Broward College campus or mailed to the Registrar’s Office at:

All official transcripts must be received and evaluated to determine that required program pre-requisites are complete. Available academic records are reviewed to make admission decisions.

Students with courses taken at universities outside of the United States must have their transcripts officially translated into English and commercially evaluated prior to submitting the application.

Step 3: Apply to a Health Sciences Program

Download, fill out and submit a

Health Sciences Limited Access Application to the Health Science Admissions Office at any one of the campus locations indicated on the application.

Additional Application information for Dental Assisting and EMS Programs:

Dental Assisting applicants must complete and submit theDental Assisting Overview with the Limited Access Application.

Please Note: Meeting the minimum admission requirements for a program guarantees consideration for a seat in the upcoming class, but does not guarantee acceptance into a program.

Step 4: Check myBC for Application Status

Admitted: candidates selected for admission will be notified through their free BC Email account with specific instructions for proceeding to Step 5.

Not Admitted: candidates not selected for admission will be notified through their free BC Email account and their Program Objective will default to the AA for assisting with degree completion.

Step 5: Complete Required Background Check, Drug Screening, Medical History & Physical

Admitted health science applicants are required to complete the following screenings.

Certified Background Check: Over 21 / Under 20

Note: A Forensic form for the drug screening will be provided upon admission.

Paramedic Students: If you are entering the program and your physical is set to expire within your first semester, please complete the Medical History Update Form.

Note: Final Admission is determined by screening results.

Step 6: Attend Your Program’s Orientation

Each Health Science program has its own orientation for students who have been admitted. Information for each program’s orientation will be emailed to accepted students via BC student email.
