Health Sciences Admissions

​Broward College (BC) offers 20 accredited limited access health science programs for individuals wishing to become healthcare professionals and for those who are health professionals seeking professional growth and development
Specific prerequisite requirements must be completed with a grade of "C" or above prior to submitting an application to your program of choice. Program admission decisions are based on the strength of the applicant pool in each application period to fill limited seats.
Step 1: Complete Program Pre-requisites
Health Science programs are limited access and have specific prerequisite requirements which must be completed with a grade of “C” or above prior to submitting the application for consideration for admission. Admission decisions are based on the strength of the application pool to fill limited seats.

Step 2: Submit All Official Transcripts
Request that your official college transcripts from other institutions you have attended be sent to a Broward College campus or mailed to the Registrar’s Office at:

All official transcripts must be received and evaluated to determine that required program pre-requisites are complete. Available academic records are reviewed to make admission decisions.
Students with courses taken at universities outside of the United States must have their transcripts officially translated into English and commercially evaluated prior to submitting the application.
Step 3: Apply to a Health Sciences Program

Current and new Broward College College students interested in selecting a health science program must complete the Health Science Limited Access Application​. 

All health Science applicants are accessed a $20.00 non-refundable supplemental fee for the limited access program.
Note: All Broward College application requirements must be complete to be eligible for consideration for admission to a health science program. These include, completing the BC application, Florida Residency Affidavit, and submit transcripts from all institutions attended.

EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assisting and Pharmacy do not require any courses to apply.
Additional Application information for Florida SouthWestern State College Physical Therapist Assistant applicants and EMS Programs:
  • Florida SouthWestern State College PTA program applicants must follow the PTA application instructions for submitting the Limited Access Application.
Please Note: Meeting the minimum admission requirements for a program guarantees consideration for a seat in the upcoming class, but does not guarantee acceptance into a program.
Step 4: Check myBC for Application Status
Log in to your myBC account to check the status of your application. 
Admitted: candidates selected for admission will be notified through their free BC Email account with specific instructions for proceeding to Step 5. 
Not Admitted: candidates not selected for admission will be notified through their free BC Email account and their Program Objective will default to the AA for assisting with degree completion.  
Step 5: Attend Your Program’s Orientation
Each Health Science program has its own orientation for students who have been admitted. Information for each program’s orientation will be emailed to accepted students via BC student email.

The college reserves the right to change any of the rules and regulations of the Health Science Departments at any time, including those related to admission, instruction, and graduation. All such changes are effective at such time as the proper authorities determine, and may apply not only to prospective students, but also to those who already are enrolled in a Health Science Program. All enrolled students will be notified in writing of such changes as they occur.
Step 6: Complete Required Background Check, Drug Screening, Medical History & Physical

​ Admitted health science applicants are required to complete background checks and a drug screening. Instructions will be provided by the Health Science Admission office upon selection.


Paramedic Students: If you are entering the program and your physical is set to expire within your first semester, please complete theEMT Paramedic Medical History Form.
Note: Final Admission is determined by screening results.
