State Board Rule 6A-10.0315, establishes the test scores used to determine whether a student is ready for college level coursework. If a student does not meet the state established cut score, this indicates that additional preparation may be necessary before entering college level courses. For those who do not meet the state established cut score, a preparatory level course will be required before a college level course may be taken. Students whose first language is not English may be placed in English language courses (instead of developmental education) prior to the required common placement testing, if such instruction is otherwise demonstrated as being necessary.
