Educational Planning

“I am unsure of my major”

“What are the requirements for my degree?”

“What schools offer my major?”

“Do I have to take all those courses?”

The Advisement and Counseling Department is here to help you answer these questions. Counselors and Advisors are available to assist you in meeting your educational goals. Let us help you understand College Policies and Procedures, State Regulations, and Degree Requirements. You can make an appointment online to see an advisor or counselor who will go over your degree audit and help you complete an educational plan. Below you will find information on how to use the educational planning feature available through "My BC".

"MY BC"- Educational Planning

Did you know that you can view your degree audit and create an educational plan online? Your degree audit is a list of all of the required courses for your chosen program of study. It will indicate which of the courses you have taken satisfy program requirements as well as which degree requirements are still unsatisfied. your educational plan is a list of which courses you will take each term until program completion.

Step 1: Log in to "My BC"

Locate "My BC" on the homepage at www.broward.edu (see the image to the right). Enter your student ID and PIN number.  (Your student ID number is usually your Social Security number with no dashes.  Your PIN number is initially set to your birth month and birth year: MMYY). If your login or pin number does not work, contact the admissions office on your campus to find out what the correct login information is. Once logged in, you can reset your pin number if you wish by clicking the "Personal" tab and then selecting "change Pin".

Step 2: Select Educational plan

Select Educational Plan from the Advising tab as shown on the right. You can also access your degree audit from the Advising tab.

Once you have selected Educational Plan, you will arrive at a page that allows you to select courses to add to your educational plan. If you need to refer to your degree audit to decide which courses to add, you can view your degree audit by clicking the Degree Audit button at the top of the page. You can add courses to your educational plan right from the degree audit page. It's that simple.  It is a good idea to review your selections with an advisor or counselor  each term to verify accuracy.

Program and General Education Requirements:

  • Program requirements for all majors, listed alphabetically by degree type
  • General Education Requirements for A.A., A.S., and A.A.S. Degrees
