Each campus holds mandatory Orientation sessions for students who are new to college. These helpful sessions provide the following:
- Quick Adjustment: To give you information that helps you quickly and confidently adjust to BCC.
- Resource Tools: To help you learn how to get additional information about BCC for native and non-native speakers of English.
- Advisement and Registration: At the end of each session you will be advised on course selection and taught how to self-register for your classes.
- International Students (F-1 Visa): Must attend an additional orientation session.
New students will receive information during their admissions and testing process that will indicate which orientation sessions they can attend.
Cyber-Orientation
An alternative version of New Student Orientation called "Cyber-Orientation" is available online and is appropriate for students whose SAT, ACT, or CPT scores indicate that they are at college level in math, reading, and English. If a student cannot attend one of the on-campus orientation sessions, and he or she does not test into any college preparatory classes, this option is available.
