Automotive Program At Broward Community College

Career Opportunities

Shift your career focus to automotive.

They don’t build cars like they used to. That means many mechanics and grease monkeys aren’t trained to repair them. Today’s vehicles run on complex computer systems. The technical equipment to work on them is highly sophisticated. There has never been more demand for well-trained, diagnostic technicians.

How driven are you?

In two years, you could have your Associates Degree in Automotive Technology... and be qualified for immediate employment as an auto technician. From there, you can:

  • Get your ASE certification
  • Improve your chances of being hired for management
positions by pursuing a Management or Bachelors degree

Steer yourself in the right direction...for the right reasons.

A recent study indicates that Florida is short 5,000 technicians and there is a similar shortage nationwide. Here are some other interesting facts:

  • Job Security: The Automotive Technician field is expected to
be one of Florida's fastest growing occupations through the
    year 2012.
  • Be in High Demand: Broward County alone is generating
over 300 openings annually for automotive technicians, auto
body repairers and diesel engine mechanics.

Earning Power: The average graduate can expect to earn
$35,000/year within a couple years after completing the program.
Many technicians earn over $50,000 a year and it is not unusual
for some to earn over $75,000.

Accelerate your automotive career!
