Air Traffic Control Air Traffic Control (ATC) - NEW Broward College is pleased to announce a new Associate of Science Degree (AS) in Air Traffic Control (ATC). The program, developed by industry Air Traffic Operator professionals, follows FAA standards for knowledge and skills to assure success in the field. All ATC training will be in our state-of-the-art facility in Miramar Town Center located at 2050 Civic Center Place, Miramar, FL 33025 where students are provided with the academic and technical skills necessary to qualify for a position as an Air Traffic Controller.

 

Avionics Certificate Avionics Certificate - NEW blended course. Broward College's Aviation Institute is proud to offer a 720 hour (two terms) certificate program in Avionics. It’s an innovative blended course that prepares students for employment as an avionics technician, a position in demand! It’s a blended course that meets twice weekly (6:00 to 10:00 p.m.) on campus and three times a week online. On campus days will be dedicated to NIDA electronics labs, aircraft visits and projects. State-of-the-art NIDA electronics training equipment is utilized for this program and FCC testing is available on site. Avionics systems are an integral part of aircraft design and have vastly increased aircraft capability. As a result, the growing use of technology in aviation is requiring technicians to spend more time on repairing electronic systems, such as computerized controls.

 

Airport Operations Management and Aviation Operations

Airport Operations Management and Aviation Operations - Airport operations management and aviation operations are two degrees designed for individuals whose career objectives include a wide variety of staff, operational, management or administrative positions in the field of aviation. Operations agents are responsible for the airfield inspections, communications and the emergency centers of airports. They apply regulatory requirements, security, safety and legal issues of aviation on the ground. Students experience firsthand the real world environment of airport operations through internships.  

 

Professional Pilot Technology

Professional Pilot Technology - Broward College’s Associate of Science (AS) degree in professional pilot technology is designed for students who want to become career pilots. The curriculum includes all FAA certificates required to make you a commercial pilot. Additional flight courses are available for those seeking opportunities to become flight instructors.  

Aviation Maintenance Technology

Aviation Maintenance Technology - Maintenance technicians are responsible for keeping the nation's airplanes flying, and they are among the best paid jobs in the industry. BCC’s aviation maintenance technology program gives the student the confidence to become a highly qualified technician in the competitive marketplace of aviation maintenance. A graduate from BCC’s certificated Airframe and Powerplant programs will be qualified for any aviation industry entry-level position.
