SATCA, Student Air Traffic Control Association, is a student organization providing community interaction, education, and networking for the future air traffic controllers and other aviation careers. SATCA strives to enrich students' future endeavors with educational opportunities and academic study material.
Members of SATCA enjoy the privilege of touring aviation and air traffic control facilities. These facilities help students experience the work environment first hand. We invite many guest speakers from a wide variety of aviation related organizations and companies to inform and interact with our members. We intend to provide our members with the latest news in the aviation industry and develop a social network between students and industry professionals.
SATCA plans study meetings for ATC students to maximize success for exams such as the AT-SAT and CTO. The success of the AT-SAT and CTO exams are essential in furthering an air traffic control career and enables students the opportunity for entry into the FAA Academy located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
SATCA holds many social and fund-raising events such as dinners at Chili's Grill and picnics at Tiger Tail Lake. We encourage students to invite their families and friends to socialize and interact in a fun relaxing environment.
SATCA is an open forum for students to provide feedback, express concerns, and address issues concerning career opportunities, quality of instruction, material provided, or any aspect regarding the AT-CTI program, here at Broward College.
Aviation students at Broward College are the future in the aviation industry. On behalf of all the members of SATCA, we invite students to join us as we enhance our education on the path for success.
Meetings will be advertised on the bulletin board outside the Emil Buehler Air Traffic Control Simulation Laboratory at the Broward College Miramar Town Center Campus. Get started and visit the next meeting, they are typically held throughout the academic year.
