Admission Process 1. Start by completing your BC application online. From the “Future Student” page go to the link that applies to you and complete the admission requirements. After completing your application, print your confirmation and student ID numbers. Then send or bring to any BC’s registration office your high school and/or college official transcripts, Florida resident documents and, if you are not a US citizen, immigration documentation. To send your documents use address below. College Registrar's Office 225 East Las Olas Boulevard Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 - Take College Placement Test CPT or send /bring your SAT or ACT test scores to testing in building 68 (Click here for a map). To start in the aviation classes (ATC, Pilot, Operations) students need to be in college level for English, reading and math (440 SAT, 83 CPT or 18 ACT). Aviation Maintenance Certificate students are not required to take CPT but must take TABE test within 6 weeks of enrollment. Click here for TABE information.
- Apply for Financial Aid. Applying for financial aid is strongly recommended. Financial aid information can be found at http://www.broward.edu/sfs/sfs/types/page13739.html Students looking for some financial help need to apply to FAFSA first.
- Make an appointment with the admissions advisor by calling (954) 201-8087. The advisor will explain and help you understand your assessment scores, assist you in academic and career planning, and help you plan a course schedule.
- Attend a mandatory orientation for all aviation students. At the orientation you’ll open your BC e-mail account, learn how to navigate our web site and find information about courses, financial aid, schedule, payments, etc. You’ll also meet your instructors, obtain course materials and get the information you need to start.
- Professional pilot students must:
- Medical. Bring a minimum of third class medical examination certificate. It is recommended, however, that flight students receive at least a second class medical, as this is the minimum level needed to fly for hire. The first class is the level required to fly for the airlines. Go to the FAA website to find a doctor near you.
- TSA. Non US citizens are required to fill out an application with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) prior to flight training. Students will not be allowed to fly until clearance is provided. MAY TAKE UP TO 4 WEEKS FOR CLEARANCE. Please note that the Flight Training Provider is: Delta Connection Academy, not BC.
- Flight Account. Open a flight account at BCC cashiers office with a minimum $3500 initial deposit. For flight training cost details click here.
- Loan. If requesting a student loan, student must complete an Aviation Enrollment Plan. Please click here to get the form.
