The Aviation Institute is proud to offer our maintenance students, in conjunction with our industry partners, paid internship opportunities. These internship programs have restrictions placed on them to include progress in the A & P certification process along with our partners in the industry needs and requirements.

Currently there are many openings requiring an A&P license. There are often jobs posted on the Employ Florida Marketplace, which can be accessed by visiting https://www.employflorida.com/. Job opportunities are wide ranging for a certified Airframe & Power plant technician; FAA inspectors, Aircraft and Parts companies, Repair technicians, Quality Control and Inspection within the numerous FAA Certified Repair stations and companies.


Airport Operations Management Internship


Typically graduates with an Aviation/Airport Operations Management degree will find positions as: Airport Information Specialist (Communications Center), Airport Operations Agent, Airport Operations Senior Agent, Jr. Planner with an Airport Consulting Firm, Airport Security Compliance Specialist, and an Airline entry-level management position maybe in sales.   The best place to view some of the jobs that are for entry level would be on the AAAE (American Association of Airport Executives) http://www.aaae.org


Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) and Miami International Airport (MIA) Internships

Airport Internships are included in the degree program. These count towards fulfilling your degree credit requirements and are not for compensation

Student must fill-out an application packet in its entirety and return it with the items listed below. Acceptance is subject to a background check and interview process. Interns must see an advisor to change their major to Airport Operations Management, program 21051, if records indicate a different major.

Application package (obtain from aviation)

Letter of Introduction to Ms. Shakespeare explaining your career goals, a little about yourself and why you are interested in the Internship.
Copy of your education transcript.
A copy of the program sheet for Airport Operations Management with checks by each course completed.
Resume consisting of your educational and work history along with any other information you feel is important ito provide.
List College courses you plan to take during the semester in which you wish to do your Internship.
Allow at least three weeks for processing before the start of the term. Return all neatly prepared items to Ms. Shakespeare
