The President and CEO of Lunacon Construction Group Patricia Bonilla has passion for construction and an unfaltering faith that became the engine for her to start her own business in 2007. Amidst the worst recession the Country had experienced in decades and in spite of the challenges faced by a new business she still stood strong. Founding a successful small business is a challenge especially while trying to raise three children as a single mother; however, Patricia used this as an incentive, she started Lunacon Construction from the garage of her home in Palmetto Bay, Florida with a $250,000 bonding capacity and without capital.
From the inception her vision was to create a company that was recognized for its consistent quality, excellent service and eventually become an icon in the industry. Lunacon’s objective is to have projects ready on time and within budget while maintaining safety and quality without compromise. Her objective was to establish a long-lasting relationship with her clients built on trust and satisfaction. In only nine years Lunacon has grown rapidly and has maintained a steady flow of repeat business. As a result Lunacon now has a $35 million dollar bonding capacity, 40 employees, a projected revenue of $18 million dollars for 2015 and a $1,000,000 line of credit. Patricia Bonilla is definitely an individual that can be admired and praised for her success throughout the years. Lunacon’s competitive advantage is the fact that all Principals had already acquired over 50 years of combined experience before starting the company and pursuing the 8(a) and women owned certifications. Her extensive experience in construction management, general contracting services and project management have been essential to the growth of Lunacon.
