Project Overview:
The Lumina Project is a multi-year initiative aimed at increasing the success rates of under-prepared students and closing the performance gaps for low-income and students of color. Business Goals:
- Provide early interventions for at-risk students.
- Offer a prescriptive approach to educational planning for at-risk students.
- Elevate the importance of the College Preparatory program at BCC.
Success Factors:
After four years of implementation, BCC will show measurable improvement in success rates for low-income students and students of color, with no reduction in enrollment levels for these populations. An increased percentage of low-income students and students of color will:
- Successfully complete remedial courses and progress to credit-bearing courses.
- Successfully complete gatekeeper courses.
- Complete the courses they take, with a grade of C or higher.
- Re-enroll from one semester to the next.
- Complete certificates and associate degrees.
